Terms of Service

By accessing or playing Street Peekaboo (the "Service") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1The game

Street Peekaboo is a free browser game where you find a hidden character (Kooka the kookaburra) in a 360° street photo. A new street is shown each day. The Service is provided by Footpath AI Pty Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), an Australian proprietary limited company.

2Free during beta

The Service is currently free to use. We may introduce paid features (subscriptions, sponsored streets, cosmetic items) in the future. If we do, the core "find the bird" gameplay will remain free, and we will notify signed-in users by email at least 14 days before any paid features launch.

3Your account

• You may play anonymously without an account.
• If you create an account by signing in with email, you are responsible for the security of the email inbox it is associated with.
• You agree to provide a real email address and not impersonate another person. Your handle — an automatically-generated combination like swift-magpie-sydney — is what appears on the leaderboard, in challenge links you share, and on score cards. Your email itself is never shown.
• We may suspend or delete accounts that we reasonably believe are abusive, automated, or violate these terms.

4Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit leaderboard scores generated by automation, scripts, or by any means other than playing the game normally in a browser.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or reuse the 360° street imagery for any commercial purpose. The imagery is ours and not yours to redistribute.
• Use the Service in any way that violates Australian law or the laws of your jurisdiction.
• Interfere with the Service's operation, attempt to bypass security, or burden the infrastructure (rate-limit abuse, DOS, etc.).

5Sharing & user content

The Service lets you generate shareable content from your rounds:

• Challenge links — URLs that put a friend on the same hiding spot. The link includes your handle so they can see who challenged them. Anyone with the link can play that spot.
• Score cards — PNG images of your spot time, with your handle and the city name. You can copy or download them and share anywhere you like.

By generating shared content you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display it within the Service (e.g. when someone follows your challenge link). You remain free to use it elsewhere. Don't share content that contains another person's information you don't have the right to share.

6Intellectual property

The Service, including the Kooka mascot, brand, copy, code, visual design, and the 360° street imagery, is ours. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of it without our written permission.

7Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee:

• That it will be available without interruption or free of bugs.
• That the imagery shown is current, accurate, or safe to visit in person.
• That leaderboard scores or game history will be retained indefinitely.

You play at your own risk. Do not rely on Street Peekaboo for navigation, real-world planning, or any decision that requires accurate or current geographic information.

8Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any direct damages is limited to AUD $0 (the amount you paid for the free Service).

Nothing in these terms limits any non-excludable consumer guarantees you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

9Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced on the homepage and to signed-in users by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.

10Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms. Sections 5–8 and 11 survive termination.

11Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
